There actually is a more rarely used term that does encompass LGBT and all the other letters sometimes added to it: GSRM, standing for "gender, sexual, and romantic minorities". When I first heard about the term, I thought it was sort of a bummer that an umbrella term like that never got embraced to refer to the movement, and instead an acronym that just lists specific labels got adopted, leading to the inevitable cascade. I almost want to start using this acronym in hopes that it will catch on, but I need to wait for the cascade to start for anyone to understand what I mean...

That *is* better. I'll put it on my list of ideas to spread if 1) it starts to gain a bit of traction, or 2) I'm sent back in time.
Still an acronym though, and doesn't make a pronounceable word.
